  23.     That error message says you are accessing the serial port, COMx,
  24. and there isn't anything there which masquerades as a real serial port.
  25. Recall that Windows itself usurps the serial port hardware and offers
  26. a virtual set to Windows apps and to the DOS box.
  27.     I happen to run WFW on my desktop. I use Novell's ODI drivers, plus
  28. odipkt and winpkt for Windows stuff, with no difficulties. I do not run
  29. any MS networking components.
  30.     Without knowing what you have setup it's difficult to offer more
  31. advice. Generally, however, the rule of "small is beautiful" applies here
  32. too, so try having fewer things accessing serial ports in Windows and so
  33. on. Check Windows itself on serial port setup.
